Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Optional: pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract for extra flavor
- Optional: 1–2 teaspoons milk if dough is too crumbly
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar and softened butter until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in flour until a soft dough forms. Add a teaspoon of milk if needed to bring the dough together.
- Roll into 1-inch balls, place on prepared baking sheet, and flatten slightly with your hand or a fork.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are just golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For a sweet-and-salty twist, sprinkle sea salt on top before baking.
- Fold in mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or press a thumbprint and fill with jam or Nutella for variation.
- Use dark brown sugar for a richer, deeper flavor.
