Description

Alkaline water is a refreshing beverage made by raising the pH level of water using simple ingredients like baking soda, lemon juice, and Himalayan salt. It's an easy, cost-effective way to support hydration and wellness.

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon of filtered water
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda (aluminum-free)
  • Optional: juice of 1 lemon
  • Optional: a pinch of pink Himalayan salt
  • Optional: pH test strips

Instructions

  1. Start with one gallon of filtered or purified water at room temperature.
  2. Add ½ teaspoon of baking soda to the water and stir well until fully dissolved.
  3. Optional: Squeeze in the juice of one lemon and add a pinch of Himalayan salt for added minerals and flavor.
  4. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes to stabilize the pH.
  5. Test with pH strips to ensure the pH is between 8 and 9.5.
  6. Store the alkaline water in a glass or BPA-free plastic container in the fridge.

Notes

  • Use only aluminum-free baking soda.
  • Store in a sealed glass container for optimal freshness.
  • Do not reheat as heat may alter the pH level.
  • Use pH strips to monitor and adjust alkalinity.
  • Drink in moderation unless advised otherwise by a healthcare provider.
