Description
Juicy, tender morsels of cajun-spiced steak are seared to perfection and drenched in a luscious garlic butter sauce, ready in just 30 minutes. Great as a cozy dinner or a shareable appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 ½ tsp kosher salt
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (or less, to taste)
- ½ tsp packed light brown sugar
- ¼ tsp dried thyme
- 1 ½ lbs steak (strip, sirloin, ribeye, etc.)
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated
- Fresh parsley, minced, for garnish
Instructions
- Slice the steak into roughly 2-inch pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Whisk the cajun seasoning ingredients together in a small bowl and coat the steak bites thoroughly.
- Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until wisps of smoke appear. Sear half the steak in a single layer for 2 minutes per side, then transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining oil and steak.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Melt butter in the skillet and add minced garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds, scraping up browned bits.
- Turn off heat. Return steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use store-bought cajun seasoning for convenience.
- Adjust garlic amount to taste.
- Fresh parsley is optional but adds brightness.
- Increase or decrease cayenne pepper to control spice level.
