Description
Cheeseburger egg rolls combine the juicy, savory flavor of a cheeseburger with the crispy crunch of an egg roll wrapper. Perfect as a party appetizer or fun family dinner treat.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup finely chopped onions
- ½ cup finely chopped pickles
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package of egg roll wrappers (about 20 wrappers)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onions and pickles to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and cheese is melted.
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in sides, and roll up tightly. Seal edges with water.
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Notes
- Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss.
- For a healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge.
- Freeze uncooked egg rolls individually before transferring to a freezer bag.
