Description

Cheeseburger egg rolls combine the juicy, savory flavor of a cheeseburger with the crispy crunch of an egg roll wrapper. Perfect as a party appetizer or fun family dinner treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup finely chopped onions
  • ½ cup finely chopped pickles
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of egg roll wrappers (about 20 wrappers)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onions and pickles to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and cheese is melted.
  4. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in sides, and roll up tightly. Seal edges with water.
  5. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss.
  • For a healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge.
  • Freeze uncooked egg rolls individually before transferring to a freezer bag.
