Description

Creamy Baked Asiago Chicken is a comforting, flavorful dish featuring juicy chicken breasts baked in a rich garlic cream sauce with nutty Asiago cheese. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Asiago cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add chicken broth and heavy cream, then stir in Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and half of the Asiago cheese.
  6. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet. Spoon sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with remaining Asiago cheese.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.
  • Grate Asiago cheese fresh for best flavor and texture.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, noodles, or roasted vegetables for a full meal.
  • Add a splash of cream or broth when reheating to maintain sauce consistency.
