Description

Crockpot French Onion Meatloaf with Melted Swiss Cheese is a cozy, slow-cooked twist on a classic comfort food. Infused with rich French onion flavor and topped with creamy melted Swiss cheese, this dish is easy to prepare and perfect for a hearty family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6-8 slices Swiss cheese
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, French onion soup mix, bread crumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the center of the crockpot.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or until fully cooked and tender.
  4. About 15 minutes before it’s done, layer Swiss cheese slices over the top of the meatloaf and cover to melt.
  5. Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, carefully remove the meatloaf, let it rest for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can cook on high for 3 to 4 hours if short on time.
  • Swap Swiss cheese with provolone, mozzarella, or cheddar for variety.
  • Add caramelized onions on top for extra flavor.
  • Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 4 days or freezer for 2 months.
