Description

This crockpot loaded steak and potato bake is the ultimate comfort food—tender chunks of steak, buttery potatoes, and melted cheese slow-cooked to perfection. It’s a hearty, hands-off dinner that’s loaded with flavor, making it ideal for cozy nights or easy family meals.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs steak (sirloin or chuck), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1.5 lbs baby potatoes or russet potatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1 to 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese or cheese blend
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sour cream, for serving (optional)
  • Optional Add-ins:
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Chopped bell peppers
  • Dash of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine steak, potatoes, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  2. Transfer everything into the crockpot and spread out evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked through.
  4. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, cover again, and let melt.
  5. Garnish with green onions and serve with sour cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Baby potatoes hold their shape best.
  • Don’t add cheese too early—it’s best melted on top right before serving.
  • Make it your own by adding veggies or hot sauce for extra kick.
