Description

A comforting casserole made with ground beef, green beans, and a creamy mushroom sauce, topped with cheddar cheese and crispy French fried onions. Perfect for a hearty weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked ground beef, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, or until casserole is bubbly and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from oven, sprinkle French fried onions on top, and return to oven for 5-10 minutes until onions are golden brown.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey for a leaner version.
  • Use fresh green beans for better texture by blanching for 3-4 minutes.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • Reheat in microwave or oven at 350°F until warmed through.
