Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking oil of choice
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes or 1 teaspoon chili paste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook until fragrant.
- Add sliced cabbage and stir fry until tender-crisp.
- Pour in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, stirring to coat evenly.
- Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or chicken as a variation.
- Add extra vegetables like bell peppers or shredded carrots.
- Serve over rice or cauliflower rice for a more filling meal.
