Description

Crispy French fries are topped with seasoned ground beef, gooey melted cheese, and finished with dollops of sour cream and fresh garnishes for the ultimate indulgent comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen or freshly cut French fries
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Colby‑jack cheese
  • ½ tsp paprika or taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sour cream, for topping
  • Fresh garnishes (e.g., chopped green onions, cilantro, diced tomatoes)

Instructions

  1. Cook the fries according to package instructions or your preferred method until golden and crispy.
  2. While they bake, heat a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until translucent, add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add ground beef, break it up, and cook until browned. Season with paprika (or taco seasoning), salt, and pepper.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, layer fries on a baking sheet or ovenproof platter. Sprinkle the ground beef on top, then generously cover with shredded cheese. Return to oven (or broiler) just until the cheese melts and bubbles—about 3–5 minutes.
  4. Transfer to a serving dish, drop spoonfuls of sour cream over the top, and scatter fresh garnishes.

Notes

  • Customize with jalapeños, olives, or hot sauce for extra kick.
  • Use Colby‑jack, pepper jack, or a cheese blend for variety.
  • To make it vegetarian, substitute beef with black beans or veggie mince.
