Description

The Miami Vice cocktail is a visually stunning and deliciously tropical blend of two classic drinks: Piña Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri, layered together for a vibrant and refreshing frozen cocktail experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 ounce coconut rum
  • 1 ounce cream of coconut
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 cup ice (for Piña Colada layer)
  • 1 ounce light rum
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce strawberry syrup or purée
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup ice (for Strawberry Daiquiri layer)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine coconut rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, and 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and place in the freezer.
  2. Rinse the blender. Add light rum, lime juice, strawberry syrup or purée, sugar (if using), and 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth.
  3. Slowly pour the strawberry daiquiri layer over the back of a spoon into the glass with the piña colada layer to create distinct layers. Optionally, stir gently for a swirled effect.
  4. Garnish with a slice of pineapple or a fresh strawberry. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

  • Use frozen strawberries for a thicker consistency and richer flavor.
  • Freeze the first layer briefly to enhance separation.
  • Store mixtures separately and re-blend if preparing in advance.
