Description

Peach Butter Swim Biscuits are a simple Southern-inspired baked treat with a crispy outside and tender center, thanks to a unique technique of baking the dough in melted butter. Infused with peach butter, they offer a sweet, fruity twist perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/3 cup peach butter (plus more for serving, optional)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a 9x9-inch baking dish and ensure it covers the bottom.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in peach butter, swirling slightly to create a marbled effect.
  6. Pour the batter into the melted butter in the pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and edges are crispy.
  8. Cool slightly, then cut into squares and serve warm.

Notes

  • Try apple butter or pumpkin butter as a seasonal variation.
  • For a savory version, omit sugar and peach butter; add shredded cheese and herbs.
  • Biscuits are best served warm to enjoy their soft texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temp or 5 days refrigerated.
  • Freeze individually wrapped slices and reheat directly from frozen.
