Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/3 cup peach butter (plus more for serving, optional)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Melt the butter in a 9x9-inch baking dish and ensure it covers the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Gently fold in peach butter, swirling slightly to create a marbled effect.
- Pour the batter into the melted butter in the pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and edges are crispy.
- Cool slightly, then cut into squares and serve warm.
Notes
- Try apple butter or pumpkin butter as a seasonal variation.
- For a savory version, omit sugar and peach butter; add shredded cheese and herbs.
- Biscuits are best served warm to enjoy their soft texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temp or 5 days refrigerated.
- Freeze individually wrapped slices and reheat directly from frozen.
