Ingredients
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup toffee bits
- ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and toffee bits.
- Press half of the dough into the prepared pan. Drizzle caramel sauce over the dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the top and gently spread to cover the caramel.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and center is just set.
- Let cool completely before slicing for clean bars.
Notes
- Use crunchy peanut butter for added texture.
- Swap in dark chocolate chips or add chopped pecans for variety.
- Want to tone down the sweetness? Omit the caramel and use just the toffee and chocolate chips.
- Bars freeze well—wrap individually and store in freezer-safe bags.
- Warm slightly in the microwave to bring back gooey texture.
