Description

This Quick and Easy Cajun Alfredo Sauce is a creamy, flavorful sauce that combines the rich smoothness of traditional Alfredo with a zesty Cajun kick. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s perfect for elevating pasta dishes, grilled meats, and roasted vegetables with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ cups heavy cream

Cheese

  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Spices & Seasonings

  • 1½ tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt (optional, Cajun seasoning may already be salty)
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it just begins to bubble, being careful not to brown it.
  2. Add garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 to 45 seconds until fragrant, making sure it doesn’t brown to avoid bitterness.
  3. Pour in cream: Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  4. Season it up: Add Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Stir well to combine all the spices evenly into the cream.
  5. Make it creamy: Reduce the heat to low and gradually whisk in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese a little at a time until the sauce is melted, thickened, and glossy.
  6. Taste & adjust: Season with salt if needed and remove the sauce from heat once it reaches your desired thickness. Adjust consistency with a splash of pasta water or milk if too thick.

Notes

  • For a thinner sauce, add a splash of pasta water or milk to reach your preferred consistency.
  • If the sauce is too spicy, mellow it by adding more cream or Parmesan cheese.
  • Enhance flavor with a pinch of onion powder or Italian seasoning if desired.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best texture and smoothness.
