Description

These S'mores Rice Krispies Treats are a delightful twist on a classic favorite, combining crispy cereals with melted marshmallows, chunks of Hershey's chocolate, and gooey mini marshmallows to create a fun, no-bake treat perfect for gatherings and sweet cravings alike.

  • 6 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag jumbo marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (divided, about 1/2 of a 10-ounce bag)
  • 4 Hershey bars (broken up into pieces)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a 9x9 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly butter it. This will make it easier to remove the treats once they have set.
  2. Melt Butter: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 6 tablespoons of salted butter until fully liquefied but not browned.
  3. Melt Jumbo Marshmallows: Add the entire 12-ounce bag of jumbo marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously and gently melt until the marshmallows become smooth and fully dissolved.
  4. Add Flavor and Cereals: Remove the saucepan from heat, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Next, add 4 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, 2 cups of Golden Grahams cereal, and 1 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir until the cereals and marshmallows are evenly coated with the melted marshmallow mixture.
  5. First Layer: Transfer half of the coated cereal mixture into the prepared baking dish. Evenly sprinkle half of the chopped Hershey's chocolate bars and half of the remaining 1 cup of mini marshmallows on top of this layer.
  6. Second Layer and Topping: Add the remaining cereal mixture over the first layer and gently press down to compact slightly, being careful not to over-compress to avoid dense treats. Top with the remaining Hershey's pieces and mini marshmallows.
  7. Cool and Serve: Allow the treats to cool and set for about 10 minutes before cutting into small squares. Serve and enjoy the gooey, crunchy s'mores-inspired dessert.
