Description

These Sticky Honey Glazed Chicken Wings are perfectly crispy, tender, and bursting with a sweet and savory honey-soy glaze. Baked to golden perfection and finished with a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds for a pop of freshness, they make an irresistible appetizer or main dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Honey-Soy Glaze

  • 2 tbsp honey (divided)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Garnish

  • Maldon sea salt
  • Pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare wings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken wings along with cornstarch, olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the wings are evenly coated.
  2. Arrange wings on racks and start baking: Place a wire rack on each prepared baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray. Arrange the coated wings evenly on the racks, making sure they are spaced apart. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the wings. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  3. Prepare and apply glaze: While the wings bake, whisk together the remaining 1 tablespoon honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic in a small bowl to make the glaze. After flipping the wings at the halfway point, drizzle the second tablespoon of honey over the wings and return to the oven.
  4. Brush with glaze and finish baking: When the wings have baked for 35-40 minutes total, remove them briefly and brush half of the prepared glaze over each wing. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to let the glaze set.
  5. Serve and garnish: Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a large serving platter. Pour the remaining glaze over the wings and toss them gently to coat evenly. Sprinkle with Maldon sea salt and garnish with pomegranate seeds for a fresh, vibrant finish. Serve immediately and enjoy your sticky, flavorful chicken wings!

Notes

  • Using a wire rack allows the wings to cook evenly and get crispy all around.
  • You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and soy sauce to your preference for sweetness and saltiness.
  • Pomegranate seeds add a nice contrast but can be omitted if unavailable.
  • Make sure to flip the wings halfway through baking to ensure even crispiness and prevent burning.
