Ingredients
Chicken Wings
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Honey-Soy Glaze
- 2 tbsp honey (divided)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Garnish
- Maldon sea salt
- Pomegranate seeds
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare wings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken wings along with cornstarch, olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the wings are evenly coated.
- Arrange wings on racks and start baking: Place a wire rack on each prepared baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray. Arrange the coated wings evenly on the racks, making sure they are spaced apart. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the wings. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare and apply glaze: While the wings bake, whisk together the remaining 1 tablespoon honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic in a small bowl to make the glaze. After flipping the wings at the halfway point, drizzle the second tablespoon of honey over the wings and return to the oven.
- Brush with glaze and finish baking: When the wings have baked for 35-40 minutes total, remove them briefly and brush half of the prepared glaze over each wing. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to let the glaze set.
- Serve and garnish: Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a large serving platter. Pour the remaining glaze over the wings and toss them gently to coat evenly. Sprinkle with Maldon sea salt and garnish with pomegranate seeds for a fresh, vibrant finish. Serve immediately and enjoy your sticky, flavorful chicken wings!
Notes
- Using a wire rack allows the wings to cook evenly and get crispy all around.
- You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
- Adjust the amount of garlic and soy sauce to your preference for sweetness and saltiness.
- Pomegranate seeds add a nice contrast but can be omitted if unavailable.
- Make sure to flip the wings halfway through baking to ensure even crispiness and prevent burning.
