Description
Sweet air fryer churro bites are a quick, light, and crispy alternative to traditional churros, coated in cinnamon sugar and ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup water
- ⅓ cup plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine water, butter, salt, and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil.
- Add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 4–5 minutes.
- Transfer dough to a bowl and beat in the egg and vanilla extract until creamy and pipeable.
- Preheat air fryer to 375 °F (190 °C) and lightly spray the basket with oil.
- Pipe or spoon 1–2 inch dough bites into the basket, spacing them apart.
- Optional: Lightly brush with melted butter.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Immediately toss cooked bites in a cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
- Serve warm, optionally with chocolate sauce, dulce de leche, or Nutella.

- Best served fresh and warm for optimal crispiness.
- Refrigerate dough up to 24 hours before cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in air fryer to restore crispness.
- Freeze shaped dough balls and cook from frozen with added time.
