Description
This Sweet Peach Iced Tea is a fruity, refreshing take on classic iced tea, made with homemade peach syrup and black tea. It's naturally sweet, vibrant in flavor, and perfect for warm weather.
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3–4 black tea bags or 2–3 tbsp loose-leaf black tea
- 2–3 large ripe peaches, thinly sliced (reserve a few for serving)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and sliced peaches. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes until peaches soften and syrup thickens.
- Remove from heat, cover, and let steep for about 20–30 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh, pressing the fruit to release all juice. Cool syrup.
- Boil 3 cups water, remove from heat, add tea, and steep for 4–5 minutes. Discard tea bags or strain loose leaves.
- Add 1 cup cold water to the tea to help it cool, then refrigerate until chilled.
- In a pitcher, mix the chilled tea and peach syrup to taste.
- Fill glasses with ice, pour in the tea, and garnish with fresh peach slices (and mint if desired).
Notes
- Adjust sweetness by altering the amount of syrup used.
- Make the peach syrup ahead of time for convenience.
- Use frozen peaches if fresh ones aren’t available—just thaw them first.
- Freeze leftover syrup in ice cube trays for longer storage.
- Infuse syrup with spices or citrus for flavor variation.
