Ingredients
- Cremini or button mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
- Swiss cheese slices
- Butter or olive oil for sautéing
- Garlic, minced
- Fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Bread or roll of choice, sliced
Instructions
- Heat butter or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Toss in the sliced mushrooms, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and cook until softened and golden, about 5–7 minutes.
- Stir in fresh thyme or parsley, then remove the mushrooms from heat.
- Preheat the broiler or oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place bread slices on a baking sheet, top with sautéed mushrooms, and layer Swiss cheese over the mushrooms.
- Broil or bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, 2–4 minutes under the broiler or 5–7 minutes in the oven.
- Serve immediately while hot and melty.
