Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing just until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Gently press each cookie with a fork to create the classic washboard pattern.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
