Description

This easy and indulgent Cannoli Dip combines creamy ricotta and cream cheese sweetened with powdered sugar and flavored with vanilla, studded with mini chocolate chips. Served with crunchy broken waffle cones, it’s a perfect make-ahead dessert dip for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup mini chocolate chips

For Serving

  • Waffle cones, broken into dippable pieces

Instructions

  1. Mix the Base: Using a stand mixer or hand mixer with a large bowl, beat the ricotta, softened cream cheese, and powdered sugar on medium-high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Add Vanilla: Add in the vanilla extract and whip the mixture for another 30 seconds to combine the flavors thoroughly.
  3. Adjust Sweetness: Taste the dip and if you prefer it sweeter, gradually add additional powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, up to 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons), without affecting the texture.
  4. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in most of the mini chocolate chips, reserving some for garnish on top if you want extra decoration.
  5. Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top. Serve immediately with broken waffle cones for dipping.

Notes

  • For best texture, ensure cream cheese is fully softened before mixing.
  • This dip can be made a few hours ahead and refrigerated; just stir gently before serving.
  • Waffle cones add a fun and crunchy alternative to traditional cannoli shells.
  • Use mini chocolate chips for the perfect bite-sized chocolate distribution.
  • If you want a lower sugar version, reduce powdered sugar and use sugar-free chocolate chips.
