Description

Delicious and nutritious protein truffles made with chocolate protein powder, nut butter, and a hint of maple syrup. These easy-to-make, no-bake treats are perfect for a quick snack or post-workout boost, featuring a rich chocolate coating that sets up beautifully in the fridge.

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 1 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 1 cup nut butter (peanut butter or almond butter)
  • 2-3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp coconut oil (optional, to thin the chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, add chocolate protein powder, nut butter, maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. This mixture forms the flavorful base of the truffles.
  2. Mix Dough: Stir the ingredients together until evenly combined. The consistency may vary depending on your protein powder and nut butter. If too dry, add a splash of maple syrup or extra nut butter; if too wet, mix in more protein powder to balance.
  3. Shape Truffles: Line a large plate or cutting board with parchment paper. Using clean hands, scoop and roll the dough into bite-sized balls. Place them on the prepared parchment.
  4. Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  5. Coat Truffles: Using a fork, dip each protein ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating. Place coated truffles back onto the parchment paper. Repeat for all truffles.
  6. Chill and Set: Refrigerate the truffles for 5-10 minutes or until the chocolate coating is firm. Once set, they’re ready to enjoy!

Notes

  • Use natural nut butters without added sugar or oils for a healthier treat.
  • Adjust maple syrup amount to control sweetness according to your taste.
  • Coconut oil is optional but helps create a smoother chocolate coating.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a dairy-free option, use vegan chocolate chips.
  • Rolling the balls slightly smaller or larger can change the number of servings.
