Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Gather ⅔ cup sour cream or Mexican crema, ½ cup of loosely packed cilantro leaves, one finely chopped garlic clove, and the zest and juice of a fresh lime. Also, have a pinch of kosher salt ready.
  2. Blend or whisk the sauce: If using a blender, combine the sour cream, cilantro leaves, garlic, lime zest and juice, and kosher salt in the blender bowl. Process until the mixture is very smooth and well blended. If you don't have a blender, simply whisk all the ingredients together in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  3. Chill the crema: Cover the sauce and refrigerate for at least a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the crema to thicken slightly before serving.
  4. Serve: Use the cilantro lime crema as a topping for fish tacos or as a flavorful sauce alongside grilled seafood, grilled meats, or roasted vegetables.
