Description

Cinnamon-Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips are a sweet, crispy, and healthy snack made with just a few ingredients. These homemade banana chips are air-fried to perfection with a light cinnamon-sugar coating, offering a naturally sweet treat without the guilt. Quick, easy, and irresistibly crunchy—perfect for snacking or topping your favorite yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 2 firm, slightly underripe bananas
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) and preheat for 5 minutes.
  2. Slice Bananas: Peel bananas and slice into 1/8-inch-thick rounds. Keep thickness uniform for even cooking.
  3. Coat with Oil: Toss banana slices gently with melted coconut oil or butter until lightly coated.
  4. Season: In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle the mixture over banana slices and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Arrange & Cook: Lay banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlap. Air fry at 300°F for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through. Monitor closely to prevent burning.
  6. Cool & Crisp: Transfer chips to a wire rack to cool completely—they’ll crisp up more as they cool.

Notes

  • Use slightly underripe bananas for the best texture.
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice for extra flavor.
  • For a savory version, skip sugar and use sea salt + paprika.
  • Chips can be refreshed in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes if they soften.
  • Not ideal for freezing as they may lose their crunch.
