Description

Delightfully soft and cheesy, these Cream Cheese Stuffed Everything Bagel Bites are perfect bite-sized snacks or appetizers. Made with a simple Greek yogurt dough filled with creamy tangy cream cheese and topped generously with everything bagel seasoning, these bagel bites offer a flavorful twist on a classic breakfast favorite. Baked until golden, they are easy to prepare and serve warm for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Filling and Topping

  • 5 tbsp cream cheese (about 2 tsp per bagel bite)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Everything bagel seasoning, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the correct temperature while you prepare the dough.
  2. Mix dry ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt using a whisk to blend them thoroughly for even leavening.
  3. Add Greek yogurt. Incorporate the Greek yogurt into the dry mix, using a spatula to stir until the mixture forms a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough. Transfer the dough ball onto a lightly floured surface and knead by hand for 1 to 2 minutes to develop its elasticity and consistency.
  5. Divide the dough. Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces by first quartering and then halving each quarter for uniform bagel bites.
  6. Shape and fill dough circles. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Flatten each dough piece into a small circle and place them on the sheet. Spoon approximately 2 teaspoons of cream cheese onto the center of each circle.
  7. Encapsulate the filling. Fold the edges of each dough circle towards the center, pinching tightly to seal the cream cheese inside. Position each bagel bite seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  8. Apply egg wash and seasoning. Brush the tops of each bagel bite with the beaten egg to give a glossy finish, then generously sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over them.
  9. Bake. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25 to 27 minutes or until the bagel bites are puffed and golden brown.
  10. Cool and serve. Remove from the oven and allow the bagel bites to cool slightly before serving warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • If you prefer a dairy-free substitute, the cream cheese can be replaced with a vegan cream cheese alternative.
  • Ensure the dough is well sealed around the cream cheese to prevent leaks during baking.
  • Everything bagel seasoning can be adjusted to taste—feel free to add garlic powder, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and dried onion according to preference.
  • These bagel bites are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven.
  • Using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or regular yogurt gives the dough a pleasant tang and sturdiness.
