Description

A refreshing and tangy cucumber salad inspired by everything bagel seasoning, combining crisp cucumbers, creamy sour cream dressing, and a zesty blend of spices for a quick and flavorful side dish.


Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 2 English cucumbers, thinly sliced, peeled and deseeded if desired
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion

Seasonings & Dressing

  • 1 teaspoon salt + more to taste
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper + more to taste


Instructions

  1. Salt the Cucumbers: Toss the thinly sliced cucumbers with 1 teaspoon of salt in a colander over the sink or in a bowl; let them rest for 30 minutes to an hour to draw out excess moisture.
  2. Rinse and Dry: Gently rinse the cucumbers after resting to remove excess salt, then press them with your hands or pat dry with paper towels to squeeze out remaining liquid.
  3. Prepare the Dressing: In a separate bowl, mix together sour cream, everything bagel seasoning, white vinegar, and black pepper to create the creamy, flavorful dressing.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Add the cucumbers and the thinly sliced red onion to the dressing; toss to coat evenly. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Chill and Serve: Serve immediately for a crisp texture or refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully before serving.
