Ingredients
Salad Base
- 1 head Iceberg Lettuce, shredded
- 2 tomatoes, chopped

- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 ½ pounds ground hamburger beef, browned and grease drained off
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 3 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning)
Dressing and Toppings
- 16 ounces Catalina dressing (1 bottle)
- 15.5 ounces Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed (1 bag)
Instructions
- Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground hamburger until fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Drain off excess grease to reduce fat content. Add the taco seasoning packet along with any required amount of water as per the seasoning instructions. Continue cooking and stirring until the seasoning is fully absorbed and the beef is flavorful.
- Combine Salad Ingredients: In a large bowl, place the shredded iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, and shredded cheddar cheese. Add the seasoned and cooked ground beef to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients together gently to combine the flavors evenly. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add Dressing and Doritos: Just before serving, pour in the Catalina dressing over the salad mixture. Toss the salad to coat all ingredients thoroughly. Then, fold in the crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos to add a crunchy texture and cheesy flavor. Serve immediately to maintain the Doritos' crispness.
