Description
Easy and customizable no-bake protein bars made with peanut butter, protein powder, and natural sweeteners. These bars are perfect for a quick, nutritious snack or post-workout fuel, with an optional chocolate coating for added indulgence.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup peanut butter (or allergy-friendly substitute)
- 3/4 cup protein powder (90g), unsweetened
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (or honey)
- 1/2 tsp salt
Optional
- 4 oz melted chocolate chips
- 2 tsp oil (optional, for smoother chocolate sauce)
Instructions
- Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, stir together peanut butter, protein powder, pure maple syrup, and salt until a uniform dough forms. Be sure to use an unsweetened protein powder to maintain a balanced flavor.
- Shape the Bars: You can either shape the mixture into individual bars using your hands or press it evenly into a lined 8x8 inch pan for easy slicing later.
- Optional Chocolate Coating: Melt the chocolate chips, optionally stirring in 2 teaspoons of oil for a smoother texture. Spread the melted chocolate over the surface of the bars in the pan or dip individually shaped bars into the chocolate.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the bars until completely chilled and firm, about 1-2 hours. If made in the pan, cut into 10 bars once set.
- Serve and Store: Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Notes
- Choose protein powder flavors that you enjoy, as it greatly impacts the final taste.
- For allergy-friendly versions, substitute peanut butter with almond, sunflower seed, or soy butter.
- Maple syrup can be swapped with honey or a low-carb sweetener for dietary preferences.
- Add mix-ins such as nuts, dried fruit, or seeds for variety and added texture.
- To make these bars vegan, use a plant-based protein powder and maple syrup instead of honey.
