Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo balls that combine crushed Oreo cookies and cream cheese, coated in melted chocolate for a perfect sweet treat. These no-bake, bite-sized delights are ideal for parties, dessert tables, or anytime you want a quick and indulgent snack.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 38 Oreo cookies (about 360g)
  • 1 (8-ounce / 226g) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup (180g) white or dark chocolate melting wafers, semi-sweet chocolate chips, or chopped chocolate bars

Optional Decorations

  • Oreo crumbs
  • Melted chocolate drizzle
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. Alternatively, chop them roughly and crush them with a rolling pin on a cutting board until finely ground.
  2. Mix with cream cheese: Transfer the crushed Oreos to a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment. Add the room temperature cream cheese and beat on medium-low speed until fully combined. Use a spatula to scrape the bowl sides ensuring no pockets of unmixed cream cheese or Oreo crumbs remain.
  3. Form the balls: Using a tablespoon-sized cookie scoop, portion the Oreo mixture and roll into approximately 1-inch (about 20 grams) balls. Place the balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 2 days to firm up.
  4. Melt the chocolate: Place the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir well, then microwave for another 30 seconds. Continue microwaving in 15-second increments, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted. If the chocolate is too thick for dipping, whisk in a small amount of vegetable oil to achieve a thinner consistency.
  5. Dip and decorate: Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate using a fork or skewer, then place it back on the parchment paper to set. Immediately sprinkle with Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, or other desired toppings as the chocolate coating will harden quickly.
  6. Chill to set: Refrigerate the dipped Oreo balls for about 1 hour or until the chocolate coating is completely set. For an extra touch, drizzle melted chocolate over the set balls before serving. Store the Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • You can crush Oreos by hand if you don’t have a food processor.
  • Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing and smooth texture.
  • Use a small amount of vegetable oil to thin chocolate melts if needed for easier dipping.
  • Oreo balls can be decorated with a variety of toppings such as nuts, candy pieces, or colored sprinkles.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge to keep them fresh up to 2 weeks.
  • For a firmer shell, allow chocolate to fully set before handling or stacking.
