Description

These fun and eerie Eyeball Cake Pops are a perfect spooky treat for Halloween or themed parties. Made with cookie dough and coated in melted vegan chocolate, they feature creative edible eyeball decorations that are sure to impress guests. Quick to make and visually striking, these cake pops offer a delightful combination of creamy chocolate and chewy cookie dough with an eye-catching presentation.

Ingredients

For the Cake Pops

  • 2 cups cookie dough
  • 6 oz melted vegan chocolate (reserve 1 oz or less for the skewers)

For Decoration

  • Colored icing sugar or liquid edible paint, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Shape the Dough: Shape cookie dough into 7-8 evenly sized balls to form the base of your cake pops.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Melt 6 oz of vegan chocolate, setting aside about 1 oz or less to dip the skewers.
  3. Insert Skewers: Dip one end of each skewer into the melted chocolate, then insert it halfway into a cookie dough ball to help secure it in place.
  4. Freeze the Balls: Place the skewered cookie dough balls into the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up and make coating easier.
  5. Coat with Chocolate: Remove the frozen dough balls and completely coat each in the remaining melted white chocolate for a smooth finish.
  6. Set Upright: Stand the coated pops upright in a glass or thick piece of Styrofoam to keep them stable, then chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to set the coating.
  7. Decorate Eyeballs: Once set, use colored icing sugar or liquid edible paint to draw detailed eyeball decorations on each cake pop.
  8. Serve: Your spooky eyeball cake pops are ready to serve at parties or as a fun dessert treat.

Notes

  • Use vegan chocolate if you want to keep these cake pops dairy-free and suitable for vegan diets.
  • Freezing the dough balls before coating prevents melting and helps create a smooth, even chocolate layer.
  • For best results, decorate the eyeballs with fine-tipped edible paint or icing tools to achieve detailed designs.
  • Store leftover cake pops in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can substitute store-bought cookie dough or make your own from scratch according to preference.
