Description

This Full English Breakfast recipe offers a hearty and traditional start to your day with crispy toast, savory chicken sausages, perfectly fried eggs, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, and flavorful baked beans. It’s a balanced and filling meal that’s easy to prepare in just 25 minutes, ideal for a comforting breakfast or brunch for two.

Ingredients

Bakery

  • 4 slices Bread

Vegetables and Beans

  • 1 cup Baked Beans (Canned or Homemade)
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 8 no Mushrooms
  • 2 no Spring onions (chopped)

Protein

  • 4 links Chicken Sausages
  • 4 large Eggs

Fats and Oils

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Seasoning

  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Beans: Start by preparing the baked beans. You can use canned baked beans or make your own spiced baked beans according to preference.
  2. Toast Bread: Slice your bread and toast them with a little butter until crispy and golden. Set aside once done.
  3. Cook Sausages and Vegetables: Take a large frying pan and add oil. Place the chicken sausages, tomatoes, and mushrooms in the pan. Cook over medium to low heat, tossing occasionally, until the sausages are cooked through and the vegetables are nicely seared and charred to your liking. Keep them warm by leaving them in the pan but pushed aside to make room for the eggs.
  4. Fry Eggs: Heat butter in the pan. Crack in a couple of eggs at a time. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook the eggs to your desired doneness—sunny side up, over easy, or fully cooked.
  5. Plate the Breakfast: To serve, place two chicken sausages, fried eggs, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, and a scoop of baked beans onto each plate. Garnish by sprinkling chopped spring onions on top and serve immediately for the best taste.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken sausages with pork or vegetarian sausages if preferred.
  • Using homemade baked beans adds a fresh and customizable flavor, but canned beans save time.
  • Adjust the level of charring on the tomatoes and mushrooms according to taste.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy warm and crispy toast alongside hot cooked components.
  • This recipe serves 2 but can easily be scaled up for more servings.
