Description

This creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a quick and easy one-pot meal perfect for busy weeknights. Angel hair pasta cooks directly in a flavorful garlic-infused chicken broth and milk mixture, then is tossed with butter and freshly grated Parmesan cheese for a rich, silky sauce. Garnished with fresh parsley, this comforting dish pairs wonderfully with garlic bread for a satisfying dinner in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Cheese and Butter

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
  • 3 Tablespoons butter (divided)

Garlic and Herbs

  • 4 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • Fresh Parsley (to garnish)

Liquids

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk

Pasta

  • 8 oz. angel hair pasta

Instructions

  1. Prepare Parmesan: Grate the Parmesan cheese finely and set it aside at room temperature. This helps it melt smoothly into the sauce later.
  2. Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Add Liquids: Pour in the chicken broth followed by the milk slowly, stirring as you do. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  4. Cook Pasta: Add the angel hair pasta to the skillet. Use kitchen tongs to gently twist and submerge the noodles as they soften. Cook uncovered for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. Reduce heat to low once pasta is tender.
  5. Add Butter: Stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, tossing the pasta gently to coat it evenly with the butter.
  6. Add Parmesan Cheese: Gradually sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese into the skillet, stirring continuously to create a smooth, creamy sauce. The sauce will initially be thin but will thicken as it stands and the pasta absorbs the flavors.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the pasta for a bright, fresh note. Serve immediately, ideally alongside garlic bread with cheese for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Angel hair pasta cooks very quickly; keep a close eye on it to prevent overcooking and clumping.
  • Letting Parmesan come to room temperature before adding helps it melt more evenly.
  • Use kitchen tongs to gently stir and twist the noodles for even cooking and sauce absorption.
  • The sauce will thicken after resting for a few minutes as the pasta absorbs more liquid.
  • Pair with garlic bread to make this a heartier meal.
