Description

These Healthy Chicken Burgers are a flavorful and nutritious option for any meal. Made with ground chicken breast mixed with fresh vegetables and herbs, they are juicy, tender, and packed with wholesome ingredients. Perfect for midweek dinners or packed lunches, these burgers are easy to prepare using a food processor and cooked quickly in a sauté pan for delicious golden patties. Serve them with potato buns, garlic yogurt, fresh spinach, and hot sauce for a satisfying and healthy meal.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 500 gm chicken breast mince (ground chicken or ground turkey)
  • 1 large onion, roughly chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/2 carrot, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 zucchini, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 lime

To Serve

  • Potato buns
  • Garlic yogurt (yogurt mixed with minced garlic and lemon juice)
  • Fresh spinach leaves
  • Hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare vegetable mixture: In a food processor, add the onion, garlic, and green chili. Process until finely chopped. Add the carrot and zucchini and pulse again until the mixture is even and finely ground.
  2. Combine burger ingredients: Add the chicken mince, egg, parmesan cheese, bread slices, salt, black pepper, oregano, and fresh cilantro to the food processor. Process all ingredients together until fully combined into a uniform mixture.
  3. Form patties: Divide the mixture into 8 large balls or 12 smaller ones, depending on desired burger size. Flatten each ball into a patty shape, using olive oil on your hands to prevent sticking.
  4. Add cheese (optional): If desired, insert a slice of cheese into the center of each patty to create a gooey cheese filling inside the burger.
  5. Cook patties: Heat a sauté pan over medium heat and add a small amount of olive oil. Cook each patty for 2-3 minutes per side until they develop a golden brown crust and are cooked through. While still warm, squeeze fresh lime juice over the cooked patties for added flavor.
  6. Serve burgers: Serve the patties on potato buns with garlic yogurt, fresh spinach leaves, and hot sauce for a delicious and healthy burger meal.

Notes

  • Adjust the cooking heat as needed because the patties can burn easily.
  • Add more olive oil to the pan during cooking if the patties start sticking.
  • If you do not have a food processor, grate the onion, carrot, and zucchini finely. Mince the garlic, cilantro, and green chili by hand before mixing.
