Description

This Honey Garlic Salmon recipe delivers perfectly cooked, flavorful salmon fillets marinated in a sweet and tangy honey garlic sauce. Ready in just 25 minutes, it's an easy and healthy option for a weeknight dinner that serves six.

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 18 oz. wild Atlantic salmon (cut into 3 oz. filets)

Marinade

  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp honey (42g)
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Cooking

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Cooking spray (for skillet)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a large resealable Ziplock bag and pour the marinade over them. Remove as much air as possible from the bag and seal it tightly. Gently move the fillets inside the bag to coat them evenly. Lay the fillets flesh side down and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Cook the Salmon: Spray a large nonstick or cast iron skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add the olive oil to the skillet. Once hot, place the salmon fillets flesh side down and cook for 4-5 minutes, allowing a nice sear to form and the salmon to cook through.

Notes

  • Ensure the salmon is wild-caught for optimal flavor and sustainability.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary to avoid steaming.
  • Adjust cooking time if fillets are thicker or thinner than 3 oz. portions.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
