Description
This Lazy Ravioli Lasagna is an effortless twist on classic lasagna that replaces traditional noodles with store-bought cheese ravioli. Layered with savory ground beef, marinara sauce, and plenty of melted mozzarella, it makes a delicious, comforting meal that comes together quickly and bakes to bubbly perfection.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef (90/10)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 (25 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 20 oz package refrigerated cheese ravioli (such as Rana 4 Cheese Ravioli)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the lasagna.
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and Italian seasoning. Cook, breaking the meat apart, until browned and no longer pink.
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Spread 1/4 of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking dish to create a flavorful base layer.
- First Layer of Ravioli and Beef: Arrange half of the refrigerated cheese ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Then spread half of the cooked ground beef evenly on top, followed by sprinkling 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Add More Sauce: Spoon another 1/4 of the marinara sauce over the cheese layer evenly.
- Second Layer of Ravioli and Beef: Place the remaining ravioli in a single layer over the sauce, then top with the rest of the cooked ground beef. Pour the remaining marinara sauce on top.
- Final Cheese Topping: Sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the entire dish for a luscious cheesy crust.
- Bake: Place the lasagna in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until it is bubbly and the cheese has melted and is slightly golden.
- Rest Before Serving: Remove from the oven and let the lasagna rest for 5 to 10 minutes to set and cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Using Frozen Ravioli: If using frozen ravioli, add 10-15 minutes to the baking time. Cover the dish loosely with foil for the first 25 minutes to prevent over-browning before uncovering and baking until bubbly and fully heated.
- Make Ahead: This lasagna can be assembled up to a day in advance. Cover and refrigerate, then bake when ready, adding 5-10 minutes to the bake time if baking directly from the fridge.
