- ½ Tbsp brown sugar
- ⅛ tsp cinnamon
- ½ Tbsp chia seeds

- 1 tsp blueberry jam
- 1 Tbsp peanuts
- 1 Tbsp crunchy peanut butter
- A few blueberries (optional)
Chocolate Raspberry Variation
- 1 tsp red raspberry jam
- 1 Tbsp dark chocolate chips
- A few raspberries (optional)
Banana Walnut Variation
- 1 Tbsp walnuts
- ⅓ banana, diced
Instructions
- Mix Base Ingredients: Combine the old fashioned oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, chia seeds, and salt in an 8 oz. mason jar or container.
- Add Milk: Pour the milk over the oat mixture.
- Stir or Shake: Stir thoroughly or put the lid on and shake the jar to mix ingredients evenly and avoid clumps.
- Screw Lid: Secure the lid tightly on the jar.
- Chill Overnight: Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes or preferably up to 8 to 12 hours to allow oats to absorb the liquid and flavors.
- Prepare Peanut Butter and Jelly Variation: Once chilled, top the base oats with blueberry jam, peanuts, crunchy peanut butter, and optional blueberries. For layered effect, remove half the oats, spread jam and peanut butter layers, then add the oats back and top.
- Prepare Chocolate Raspberry Variation: After refrigeration, top base oats with raspberry jam, dark chocolate chips, and optional raspberries. For layering, remove half the oats, add jam layer, spoon oats back, then add chocolate chips and raspberries.
- Prepare Banana Walnut Variation: Just before serving, top base oats with walnuts and diced banana. Alternatively, mix chopped walnuts into oats and top with banana slices.
