Description

These Simple Fruit Ghost Skewers with Marshmallows are a fun and festive Halloween treat that combines fresh fruit and spooky marshmallow ghosts. Perfect for a quick 10-minute snack or party appetizer, these skewers feature juicy cantaloupe balls, fresh blackberries, and marshmallows decorated with ghostly faces using a food marker. Easy to assemble and visually delightful, these fruit skewers are a healthy and playful bite for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 12 Cantaloupe balls (from 1 medium cantaloupe)
  • 12 Blackberries

Other

  • 6 Large marshmallows
  • Food-safe black marker (for decorating marshmallows)
  • 6 Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cantaloupe: Cut one medium cantaloupe in half and use a melon scooper to create 12 round cantaloupe balls.
  2. Decorate marshmallows: Using a food-safe black marker, draw ghostly eyes and a round open mouth on the flat side of each large marshmallow to create spooky faces.
  3. Assemble the skewers: Take one wooden skewer and push it through one cantaloupe ball, then add one blackberry onto the skewer.
  4. Add the marshmallow ghost: Push the skewer through one decorated marshmallow, ensuring the face is visible and upright on the skewer.
  5. Finish the skewer: Continue by pushing another cantaloupe ball onto the skewer followed by one more blackberry to complete the skewer.
  6. Repeat assembly: Repeat the above assembly steps with the remaining skewers and ingredients until you have six completed fruit ghost skewers.

Notes

  • Use a food-safe marker to ensure the marshmallow decorations are safe for consumption.
  • For extra fun, you can substitute blackberries with blueberries.
  • Serve immediately to keep the marshmallows fresh and the fruit juicy.
  • These skewers can be made ahead but should be refrigerated and assembled just before serving for best texture.
  • Perfect as a healthy Halloween party snack or festive treat for kids.
