Description

This Sinister Dark Chocolate Fudge is a decadent, spooky treat perfect for Halloween or any festive occasion. Made with rich dark chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and swirled with marshmallow fluff, it combines creamy texture with fun, eerie decorations like bloody eyeball sprinkles and red sugar. The fudge sets up in just a few hours and yields 36 bite-sized squares of delicious chocolatey goodness.

Ingredients

Fudge Base

  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 11.5 ounces dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup marshmallow fluff

Decorations

  • Red sprinkles
  • Small bloody eyeball sprinkles
  • Large bloody eyeball sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with a large sheet of parchment paper, ensuring it extends up and over the sides to easily lift the fudge out later. Set aside.
  2. Heat the Base Mixture: Place a medium saucepan over medium-low heat and add sweetened condensed milk, salted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir continuously until the butter is fully melted and the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat immediately.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: Add the dark chocolate chips to the hot mixture. Let stand for a couple of minutes so the chocolate starts melting, then stir until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Pour and Smooth: Transfer the chocolate fudge mixture into the prepared pan. Use an offset spatula to spread it evenly and smooth the surface.
  5. Add Marshmallow Swirls: Using the back of a spoon or butter knife, lightly drag small amounts of marshmallow fluff over the top of the fudge to create spooky streaks and swirls.
  6. Decorate: Sprinkle red sprinkles generously over the top, then scatter both small and large bloody eyeball sprinkles evenly for a fun, eerie effect.
  7. Set the Fudge: Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature until firm, approximately 3 hours. Optionally, refrigerate to speed up the process, but note this may cause the fudge to become slightly dry or crumbly.
  8. Cut and Store: Once firm, lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper edges and cut into small squares. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to easily remove fudge from the pan without sticking.
  • Do not overheat the mixture to avoid burning or seizing the chocolate.
  • Refrigerating will firm the fudge faster but might affect texture slightly.
  • Store fudge at room temperature in an airtight container to maintain its creamy texture.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter and condensed milk with vegan alternatives but expect different texture.
