Ingredients
Salmon
- 1 lb (500g) salmon
- Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
Spicy Honey Sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon whole grain Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Asian chili garlic sauce (or Tabasco sauce)
- 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Garnish
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Salmon: Preheat your oven to 400°F (207°C). Rinse the salmon fillet under cold water and pat it dry thoroughly with paper towels. Place the salmon onto a large sheet of aluminum foil and season it evenly with salt and ground black pepper.
- Make the Spicy Honey Sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, whole grain Dijon mustard, Asian chili garlic sauce (or Tabasco sauce), apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are fully incorporated into a smooth sauce.
- Coat the Salmon: Pour the prepared spicy honey sauce over the seasoned salmon, spreading it evenly over the surface to ensure every bite is flavorful.
- Wrap and Bake: Fold the foil over the salmon and seal the edges tightly to create a packet. Place the foil packet on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon, until cooked through and flaky.
- Serve and Garnish: Carefully unwrap the foil to reveal the cooked salmon. Transfer to plates, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- The baking time may vary depending on the thickness of the salmon fillet; thicker cuts might need closer to 20 minutes.
- Asian chili garlic sauce can be substituted with Tabasco sauce for a different style of heat.
- For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in the sauce for 15 minutes before baking.
- Ensure the salmon is well wrapped in foil to keep it moist during baking.
- Pair with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
