Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make strawberry sorbet that requires no ice cream machine if you have a high-speed blender. This naturally sweetened dessert features fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and your choice of sweetener, perfect for a light and fruity treat.


Ingredients

Fruit

  • 3 cups strawberries (360g), stems removed and frozen if not already frozen

Sweetener

  • 1/4 cup sugar (or substitute with pure maple syrup, white sugar, xylitol, etc.)

Flavoring

  • 2 tsp lemon juice (or zest of 1 lemon)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Remove the stems from the strawberries and freeze them if they are not already frozen to ensure a good sorbet texture.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Using a high-speed blender such as a Vitamix, blend the frozen strawberries, sugar, lemon juice (or lemon zest), and optional pinch of salt until the mixture reaches a smooth sorbet consistency.
  3. Alternative Method: If you have a regular blender, allow the frozen berries to thaw slightly until they can be processed. Then transfer the blended mixture to an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions to achieve proper texture.
