Description

Wingstop Cajun Corn is a flavorful and spicy side dish featuring fresh corn seasoned with a homemade Cajun spice blend and buttery goodness, air-fried to golden perfection. This easy recipe combines crispy, tender corn bites with a zesty kick, perfect for pairing with grilled meats or enjoying on its own.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 6 ears of corn

Butter Mixture

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1.5 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (see below)

Cooking:

  • Olive oil or avocado oil spray

Cajun Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ¾ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep the Corn: Husk and clean each corn ear thoroughly, then cut each into small pieces suitable for air frying and easy serving.
  2. Prepare for Air Frying: Place the cut corn pieces into the air fryer basket in a single layer and lightly spray them with olive or avocado oil to ensure crisping during cooking.
  3. Initial Cook: Set the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook the corn for 5 minutes to begin the roasting process.
  4. Flip and Continue Cooking: After 5 minutes, flip the corn pieces to promote even cooking and air fry for another 5 minutes.
  5. Finish Cooking: Continue air frying the corn in 3-5 minute increments, flipping as needed, until the corn is slightly golden and cooked through, approximately 12-15 minutes total cooking time.
  6. Make the Cajun Butter: While the corn cooks, melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave, then stir in the homemade Cajun seasoning until well combined.
  7. Toss Corn in Cajun Butter: Once the corn is hot and golden, transfer it to a large bowl and toss thoroughly with the seasoned melted butter to coat evenly.
  8. Serve: Serve the Cajun corn warm, optionally with dipping sauce on the side for an extra flavor boost.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper amount to control the heat level of the Cajun seasoning.
  • Olive oil spray can be substituted with avocado oil or any neutral oil spray for air frying.
  • For even cooking, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Can be served as a side dish for grilled meats, seafood, or as a flavorful snack.
  • Leftover Cajun corn can be refrigerated and reheated in the air fryer for best texture.
